Jeff in San Rafael says this: "Can a good coach make a difference? Can an unfit man be transformed so that a new way of life is formed? Two years ago I met Jared and and Erinn for the first time on the deck of the Y.M.C.A. swimming pool. I barely could swim across to the other end of the pool, I was new to running, and my cycling days were distant memories of my past. Fortunately, I was not alone and I still marvel how these coaches gently induced a new state of athleticism for this group of individuals. With a well conceived plan, motivation, humor and most importantly, careful personal guidance for each individual, my life began to slowly change. Our sprint race was daunting, the Olympic triathlon venue was even more so. Overcoming my own self-doubt, Jared convinced me that I would succeed at that level. I barely could contain my tears of joy (a little pain as well) when I reached the finish line at the Folsom event as I babbled on to Jared, thanking him for everything he had done. Since then I have gone on to complete The Escape from Alcatraz event, The Vineman 70.3 half ironman and now in full training to do my first full ironman on Hainan Island in China in March of 2010. Can a good coach make a difference? Can a man be transformed to a new way of life? YES and YES again to the aforementioned. But you got to have good coaches such as Jared and Erinn."

The camaraderie was great. The thing that I still love is that there are so many little goals you can set along the way. This year, it was just completing the race, but now it's so cool, there are lots of ways to challenge yourself.
